Care Instructions

  • Light: Requires full sun, meaning at least six hours of direct sunlight daily for the best performance and flower production.
  • Watering: Water deeply and regularly during the first season to establish deep roots. Once established, it is moderately tolerant of dry spells, but consistent watering at the base of the plant is recommended to prevent stress and fungal issues.
  • Soil: Thrives in rich, well-draining soil with a slightly acidic pH (6.0–6.5). Amending the soil with compost or organic matter is highly beneficial.
  • Maintenance:
    • Pruning: Since it blooms on new wood, the main pruning should be done in late winter or early spring just as buds begin to swell. Cut back major canes by about one-third to an outward-facing bud.
    • Deadheading: Remove spent blooms (deadheading) down to the first five-leaflet set to encourage continuous reblooming throughout the season.
    • Feeding: Apply a balanced, slow-release rose fertilizer every four to six weeks during the growing season, stopping in late summer.
    • Disease Resistance: One of its key benefits is strong natural resistance to common ailments like black spot, powdery mildew, and rust, making it an easier-care rose than many traditional hybrid teas.
    • Hardiness: Hardy in USDA zones 5-9. In colder zones, apply a thick layer of mulch around the crown for winter protection.
